![]() He's a jolly fighter like Chu, and that's a good match for Yusuke. Now it's time for a fight with Jin, and the mood's already lifting from the last fight. That's a lot of cracked bones, Kuwabara, please stay down. And the first thing Yusuke did after his fight was check on Kurama, I can't handle these boys. Yusuke and Hiei were ready to take on the whole place if that beating continued, what good friends. Glad that Yusuke gave Bakken quite the beating in return. No wonder Jin didn't want anything to do with the guy. And then trying to get Yusuke with that pathetic underhanded attack. ![]() Then asking for mercy himself when he gets hit once, just compare that to how much Kurama went through. Beating up Kurama when he can't even retaliate just to add on to all the odds stacked against the team. Move over, tournament committee and Ichigaki. Out of all the jerks in the tournament, he's the one I hate the most. ![]() Yusuke will definitely gain some much-needed levels. I would definitely count that as out of the ring. Also, clearly he doesn't know the power of Airbenders. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that Koenma really cares. Is that a Pidgeot? These audience designs are all hilarious. All it missed was an ora-ora shout with the Stardust Crusader's theme playing in the background. Never mess with Yusuke's head, it's made of steel.ĭefinitely one of the most satisfying beatdowns ever. Bakken doesn't look too happy about it though. I don't think I've ever been happier seeing a Yusuke murder-face. I think, much like BnHA, this might be a show where every girl is best girl. I dunno about you guys, but Koto is skyrocketing up my list of best girls in this show. Keiko is boss, too, telling it like it is.Įpisode 39: Crushing Revenge (Annihilation! Yusuke's Iron Fist of Fury) Ah, Yusuke-this re-watch has made me appreciate your character more.įun Koto! Koto's all for the pain but Kurama isn't even conscious to enjoy it she’s had enough-just show the damned results, haha. How after the fight, we see him immediately heading over to Kurama like it’s nobody’s business. The snark, the confidence, that soft chuckle after absorbing Bakken’s hits are just priceless. Yusuke is just too Yusuke-he’s sweet, he values his loved ones, & he gets it done. I don’t normally like cocky people, but he’s proven again that he’s more than that. Didn’t expect I’d be giddy over anyone but Kurama, but apparently, Yusuke could pass for fling material. Maybe it'll make more sense later on-but for now, it's something they need to do, because Toguro.Ĭheer up, your brain’s just small. This is a telling moment, because team Urameshi needs to advance in the tournament progressively & not get disqualified, despite those sucky rules. W/ Yusuke ready to blast his rei gun & Hiei ready to fire (maybe w/ his other arm?)-that might have been suicide to them, in a way. It wasn't just Yusuke willing to risk it all. Hiei x Kurama! Kurama is precious to Hiei, people. I really can't wait to see these guys square off some more, and I'm really digging on this Jin guy! It's added so many more layers to the fight, and seeing Jin contemplate winning Hanging Neck Island was so touching. I am so hyped for the rest of this fight, and it's such a refreshing change to see these two fighters joke around and generally have a good time before the fight. Yuusuke faces off with Jin, the Irish sounding wind master, and hot fucking damn was the little bit we got awesome!!! I know a lot of it was probly clothes blowing in the looped over and over, but I'm a sucker for that shit, and the animators did an excellent job showcasing the feeling of gusts of wind, Jin flying around, and those oh so epic anime moments of character having their clothes blown around. I absolutely love seeing characters care about each other, and these 4 guys have built up such camaraderie that I would be content just watching these guys chill out for the rest of the series after the tournament. Right on, Yuusuke!īefore Yuusuke begins the next fight, he goes over to check on Kurama, and straight up, it was almost emotional for me. I was on the fence about whether Yuusuke would show him mercy, then I remembered Kurama and was like, "Fuck this guy! Show no mercy!!!" Yea! I'm seriously a major softie that loves to see some redemption or forgiveness for damn near everybody, but this guy didn't deserve one bit of it. I gotta say Yuusuke's beatdown was one of the most satisfying comeuppances in the series yet. ![]() Beating an unconscious Kurama, shoving Koto around, pleading with Yuusuke for mercy. All I can say about this Bakken fucker is that he got exactly what he deserved. Much shorter write up for this badass episode cuz of a busy day.
